Robert Behrens
An American Artist
A sculptor and designer, Behrens was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, on May 12, 1939. He attended the Kansas City Art Institute earning a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1965 in industrial design and sculpture, and went on to earn his master's in sculpture from the University of Denver in 1972. "Solar Intersections" Sculpture 1989, Artist: Robert Behrens, Collaborator: Friberg, Dedicated to: The People Of Davis, 2nd Street in front of Amtrak Station, Davis, California On 2nd Street in front of the train station there is a tall piece of art titled "Solar Intersections." It was created in 1989 by Robert Behrens. The statue is covered in holographic material that shimmers with rainbows when you look at it, particularly under the bright summer sun.
