In June 2017, Place Lab (joining the SF Parks Alliance in the summer of 2018) was awarded a Living Alleys Community Challenge Grant on behalf of the Friends of Hickory, to bring much-needed improvements to Hickory Street between Van Ness and Franklin Streets in San Francisco's Hayes Valley neighborhood. Improvements will include building murals and overhead string lighting, to improve the alley's safety and attractiveness.[from placelabsf website]
