Huge Steel Pipes Prevent Wall Collapse
Huge steel pipes were welded to the vertical side supports that prevented wall collapse. Note the work lights near the highway cones on the left.

Elevated Platform And Street
An elevated platform was supported by steel stilts in the center. On this platform were two cranes used to haul up dirt from the hole. Notice busy First Street passing over the hole midway.

Backhoe On Central Platform
A backhoe stood next to a crane on the platform on stilts that ran down the center of the dig.

Crane Outliers To The Central Platform
There were two crane outliers to the main central island on stilts in the center of the dig. Also note the red porta-potty in the center of this shot.

A Backhoe Faced The Street
A backhoe parked on the central platform near to First Street. Note the seat in the backhoe cab to give you a sense of the scale based on the understood size of a seated man.
