The "Figure Eight" raised garden bed was being constructed in the side yard. It was placed there because a thick layer of clay prevented anything but native grass from growing. The pipe pointing up at the far end will provide irrigation next year. The dirt in the center has been mixed with compost for nourishment, and 10-quarter gravel and perlite for good drainage.

The concrete blocks, that were used to form the Figure Eight raised garden bed, had almost completed its shape. Once the last row was complete, it would be filled with well drained dirt.
