The farm's dogs ran ahead past the ox-cart and out through the open gate.

The tour walked past a modest corn field with a majestic tree at the far other end of the field.

Huge trees stood in the center of one of their vast fields. Notice the ladder and tables under the trees.

A small group of grass tufts had been bent by the prevailing winds.

One of the farm dogs raced uphill toward bean drying racks laid under the trees.

The guide for the walk showed that red beans were grown on this farm. The cut stalks were dried on a wooden rack, and then the pods were beaten to free the beans.

Examples of bean plants were laid on the table for us to examine. There were three kinds of beans raised on this farm, red, black, and small red.

At the end of the tour, the guide asked if anyone wanted to ride back. The group declined the offer so the ox-cart returned, carrying no passengers, to the stables. Notice the mattress on the bed of the cart placed there for comfort.

One of the tourists with us on the G Adventure's trip was Grazyna Szawlowski from Canada. Here she followed the ox-cart along a narrow county road lined by shade trees. The day was warm and the air smelled country fresh.

Our Ox-Cart approached a boy waiting on another cart, his cart parked and absent drayage animals.

Several horses grazed in a field on the way back to the farm. They did not notice us passing by on the road.
