The guide for the walk showed that red beans were grown on this farm. The cut stalks were dried on a wooden rack, and then the pods were beaten to free the beans.

The Ox-Cart Headed Back

At the end of the tour, the guide asked if anyone wanted to ride back. The group declined the offer so the ox-cart returned, carrying no passengers, to the stables. Notice the mattress on the bed of the cart placed there for comfort.
