A modest store was open near the Winchester Bay Inn. Called "Stockade Market & Tackle," it sold hardware, cold beer, and soda. Carved wooden figures decorated its front.

A "Harbor Baptist Church" stood in the center of the residential district. It had disabled person's parking and ramp next to the stairs leading inside. This church billed itself as "The Light At The Coast."
