The end of SW Bay Street where it met SW Bay Boulevard was the start of a Tsunami Evacuation Route that led uphill and away from the water.

Forinash Gallery stood at the intersection of SW Bay Street and SW Bay Boulevard. It offered Photography, Posters, Framing and Gifts.

A sign for the Pier 839 seafood restaurant showed that the restaurant was, "now open!" (but not necessarily open)..

A fishing pier was accessible just off of SW Bay Boulevard. A man stood at the rail with a fishing pole in his hands.

Trident Seafoods had a factory or storage facility on SW Bay Boulevard. Trident Seafoods described themselves as a, "Vertically integrated harvester, processor and marketer of seafood from Alaska, the Pacific Northwest and from around the world."

Jambo World Crafts was a chain of stores located in Eugene, Florence, and here in Newport, Oregon. They described themselves as, "Jambo World Crafts is a fun retail store and smoke shop in Eugene, Portland, and Newport with clothing, jewelry, incense, tie dye, hemp, bags ,oils , and tapestries."

A tie dye store was closed with no indication of what time it might open. The single indication was a vague, "Closed today, see you soon!!"

A sign for the "Horse Shoes Beer Garden" which had not opened yet that day.

A fish restaurant had the word, "Fresh," which glowed red inside the blue neon outline of a fish.

One store window had on display a letter to Santa that read:

A wooden gate at the top of a short run of stairs had mounted on it the outline of a crab.

The sign above "Sharks Seafood Bar & Steamer Company" exhibited a fiberglass replica of a shark.

At the top off SW Bay Street was a highway sign that indicated the directions to assorted parts of town.
