Marina Parking From Above
The viewing platform inside the Channel Islands Visitor Center allowed an overview of the area in front of the beach. Parking for the Marina was on this side of the road. The beach was off to the right of this photograph.

The Beach From Above
The viewing platform above the Channel Islands Visitor Center provided a nice overview of the beach. The road in the foreground was Spinnaker Drive. A quarter mile to the left was a shopping center. Parking for the beach could be seen just on the other side of Spinnaker Drive.

Sidewalk
A sidewalk divided the parking lot from the beach. The sidewalk had lighting for nighttime and provided copious garbage receptacles. The parking lot allowed for parking of RV's, campers and buses too at its far end.

Rolling Sand
This beach featured low rolling hills of sand which could make privacy easier to find. A breakwater protected the beach.

Past Low Dunes
The walk to the water was past low dune-like mounds of sand. Taller than a person but lower than actual sand dunes.

Fishing
The stone breakwaters were good places from which to fish. Unfortunately we didn't see anyone actually catch anything that afternoon.

Lifeguard Closed
The lifeguard station was only open during the summer months. Here in October, there were too few swimmers to warrant a full-time lifeguard.

Discussion
A person reclined on a surf board discussed something with another standing by a kayak.

Garbage Can
A lone garbage can rested on the beach and appeared to be facing backward toward the Channel Islands Visitor Center. The viewing tower could just be seen to the right of the U.S. flag.

Spacious Beach
This beach was spaciously wide with room enough for the crowds of summertime. This October, the beach featured this lone family playing on the sand.

Breakwater
The southern breakwater had a sign, as did most of the breakwaters, warning not to climb on them. Most people who fished from them, ignored these warning signs.
