The ticket booth was nestled among palm trees a short walk from the parking lot.

Tickets were taken after passing through a huge barn-like structure. Inside were displays describing the options available, such as various levels of tours.

Once inside, the park began to look much more lush but for the immediate intrusion of a gift shop. From the ticket takers, only one path ran into and out of the park proper.

Just off to the right of the path into the park, was the Wings Of The World Aviary. Here two birds loitered on the path inside the aviary.

Inside the Wings Of The World Aviary were many birds to see. Here was a pair of birds perched high overhead on a branch.

Near the main entrances was the Thorntree Restaurant. Here we show a sample menu that was posted outside.

Here was a group of school kids gathered to wait for a chance to enter the Petting Kraal with its selection of farm animals.

Some of the walkways through the park were elevated and provided the means to travel through the upper canopy of the forest.

There were many paths through and around the park. If confused, a handy map that was handed out at the entrance provided necessary guidance.

At one junction in the paths was an artistic water-works display that kids could use to cool off on hot days.

A path ran through a lagoon in the "Heart Of Africa" area. Just ahead to the left was Primate Island. Out of sight along the path to the right were flamingos.

In the Heart Of Africa area was a large open area behind a fence that held fine examples of warthogs. Here was one with a bit of dirt on his nose.

One path first crossed a stream at the bottom of a hill, and later curved back around and over the bridge above. An Great Egret stood in the stream.

Several Southern Gerenuk (Litocranius walleri walleri) were found in a large enclosure. They are from a range that extends from South Somalia to Tanzania, Africa. Here two of them stood on hind legs to reach high.

Here we show how the walkways not only ran past enclosures but also extended into them. Here Southern Gerenuk could be seen close to one walkway.

On the way to the Lion Camp we passed a Western Egyptian Vulture perched on a log alongside the trail.

The Lion Camp featured a large male lion resting atop an old Range Rover car.

An elevated path passed by the Lion exhibit. Fixed telescopes were available for those without their own binoculars or telephoto lenses.

The vast area given over to the free wandering of several different species of herbivore.

Every fifteen minutes or so a tour tram would pass by carrying riders close to the animals.

For considerably more money than the tram ride, one could ride a truck out into the herbivore area for even closer shots.

The park also featured nice long zip line rides.

One of three Roar And Snore campgrounds for overnight stays.

Many of the restaurants throughout the park featured close-up viewing of animals and birds. This was a Black-crowned Night Heron seen from one such restaurant.

Here was one restaurant surrounded by uncaged wild and exotic birds. A sign on the fence warned against feeding the birds.

Up high in the Conifer Garden two of the park's handlers lead a Wart Hog on a walk down the trail.

On the way out of the park one encountered several shops selling trinkets and other souvenirs. Here was an elephant with a wind-up nose and flower ears.
