Individual Cabins Lined A Stone Walkway
This Villa Paraiso Hotel offered individual cabins arranged along stone pathways. The cabins were built of brick with terracotta roofs. Each cabin had a deck with chairs and hammocks.

The Deck Of Cabin Five
Cabin five had a brick deck surrounded by wooden fencing. The deck chairs were rocking chairs. The hammocks were tossed over a beam to keep them out of the way when not in use.

The View Looking Toward The Street
The hotel was right next to a street. Fortunately that street was very quiet. Only the occasional sounds of a bus or car passing, or a herd of cattle.

Ruta De Evacuacion
Because the island was home to an active volcano, evacuation routes were well marked, including on the hotel grounds. Essentially this sign said to evacuate toward the street, not downstairs toward the lake.

A Pleasant Lake Front Area
Down many steps was this pleasant lake-front area set with tables and chairs and hammocks. To the right, out of frame, was a bar that was only staffed in the evening.

Not Wheelchair Friendly
The hotel featured several tall stairways to access the lake front. But there were only stairways and no ramps. This is not a hotel that would be good for the extremely elderly or the disabled.

Full Lake Erased Beach
The lake was extra high at the end of the most recent rainy season. So high, in fact, that almost the entire beach had been erased.

A Video Walk Down To The Beach
A early morning walk all the way down to the lake-front beach from the cabins. Because of stairs, this video was a bit shaky in places.

Fresh Flowers In Bloom
The hotel grounds were littered with freshly blooming flowers.

Side Path To Front Entrance
The path leading to the front entrance, the hotel desk, and restaurant was narrow between the cabin sides. It was partly paved, as here, and dirt nearer the hotel lobby.

Vans Parked In Front
The front driveway of the hotel was paved with bricks and had plenty of parking for vans.

Recycling, Composting, and Landfill
The hotel had the means to separate recycling, from compost, and landfill. The labeled trash area was next to the parking lot.

Outdoor Seating At The Restaurant
The restaurant was located behind the reception area and offered outdoor seating. When food was present, so were white-throated magpie jays .
