Balloon Magic sponsored a huge walking rainbow of buff men and women each carrying one colored explosion of colored balloons on his or her back.

During the course of the parade, one of the purple people exchanged an amusing quip with a member of the blue part of the marching rainbow.

The advance part of the Righteously Outrageous Twirling Corps were dancing marching people that danced a sort of strength posing number.

One float featured a bevy of gay Asian Pacific islanders. One man pretended to be from France. Some of the crowd watching might have believed that France was the name of an Asian Pacific Island.

A line of hand-holding men with rainbow wings led the Straights For Gay Rights contingent.

The crowds were so dense that day that some climbed atop statues and newspaper boxes to see.

The Straights For Gay Rights were a large contingent with a huge float.

The occasional protester would appear ahead of a contingent. Here a woman complained via her sign that, "Trans People Don't [Thrive] When Kaiser Discriminates.

The float for Chabot College, Gay Straight Alliance, featured a young boy wearing a straw hat and carrying a butterfly net suspiciously eyeing the girl wearing an abbreviated panda costume.

Members of the Oakland Fire Department rode an Oakland Fire Truck in the parade. Occasionally they would sound the siren.

One float featured the making of a movie extravaganza. An all singing, all dancing, musical number on multiple levels and in varying styles and costumes.

The Chipotle Mexican Grill company sponsored a modest float pulled by a U-Haul rental pickup truck.

The young members of the Facebook team, danced, cavorted, waved signs, smiled and had a good time. The parade ended with the marching advance of the future.
