The mural, as seen from the street, occupied the entire side of a building.

A plaque, embedded into the wall upon which the mural was painted, described the mural and the events it depicted.

At the right end of the mural were three figures from a supposed future. A homeless woman with her dog, a man panhandling on the sidewalk, and a mother walking her son to school. Between them a tree bursts through the sidewalk.

Strange curved blue ropes covered one of the screens of of the building upon which the mural was painted. Below the screen a man lay on his back to read a newspaper headline that announced, "A Peoples history of Telegraph Ave."

Three strong men hauled dirt and dug to plant trees in People's Park. On a telephone pole behind them were two signs: "Bulldozer Alarm" and "Everybody Gets a Blister."

At the top of that same telephone pole were more signs: "Peoples Park" and "Power To The People."

Four people marched in front of traffic as part of the protest. Two played music, and a fourth smoked pot.

A father and daughter marched. Just ahead of them a psychedelic man held out a tablet of LSD.

More blue cables covered a screen behind which several men waited in jail.

Above the jail were televisions, power cables, briefcases filled with cash, and Clark Kerr and Nixon holding onto the top ends of the cables.

The far left end of the mural depicted the Free Speech Movement . Mario Savio gave a speech from the top of a police car.

A sheet of paper on the hood of the police car quoted Mario Savio's famous speech:

There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious that you can't even tacitly take part. You've got to put your bodies upon the gears, the levers and all the apparatus and you've got to indicate to the people who run it and own it that unless you are free the machine will be prevented from working at all.

At the extreme left end of the mural, a bunny dashed down a log.
