Inside, the White Pass & Yukon Rail Car

![]() Because this rail line ran on a 914 mm (3 foot) rail spacing, the inside of the cars were not capacious. The aisles were so narrow that only one person could pass through at at time.

![]() The floor was carpeted and the benches were screwed down to the floor. Note that the seat backs could flip from one side to the other, making the benches reversible.

![]() The inside of the rail car as seen from the platform outside. Hardy folks could stand outside on a narrow platform and were able to get clear photographs. Others rode inside where it was warm.
