Neon signs, hung on the inside walls, told were to find things (like telephones?) The neon arrows below all signs on that wall all pointed the same direction. Some people might call the neon redundant because of the same signs embedded in the marble wall high overhead, but they would be wrong. The neon was an artistic touch.

Neon signs on the other side led to the "Metropolitan Lounge", "Restrooms", and the "Newsstand". Contrast that to the embedded signs above that correspondingly led, "To Trains", "Waiting Room", and "Parcels • News • Cigars".

A small maze let to the "Business Class Ticketing & Check In" on this side, and regular check-in on the other side. Note that on Amtrak, business class is very affordable and helps you avoid waiting in a long line for seat assignments when the train arrives. Instead, with business class, you board early.

Newsstand Door Missing

Over the years, the newsstand expanded to the edge of the waiting area. Its door vanished and reappeared down the hallway inside the waiting room, in the direction of the restrooms. Also notice that the way out is easy to spot because of daylight beyond that door.

The tracks upon which the trains will arrive lay beyond closed doors. Also notice condos build alongside the tracks on the other side.
