The Town Of Caliente
A model of how the town of Caliente, California looked in the 1950's. Cars were parked in front of the Caliente Store which is presently the Post Office . In the foreground is the railroad station. Rail lines still pass through this town.

Make-out Overlook
With oil derricks in the background and a busy rail line behind, it is hard to imagine how romantic it could be to park on this overlook. Despite its drawbacks, parking a car to make-out continues to be quite common. Of course these days, video cameras are so common that even if you park in a secluded spot, your adventure may appear on a web site.
