The flower of the tulip tree strongly resembles a tulip. It is not a tulip, however, it is a flower of the Liriodendron tree. There are two forms of Liriodendron tree, one with red flowers and this one with yellow flowers.

Another flower higher in the tulip tree (Liriodendron Tree) was also beginning to turn yellow.

A bud grew on our tulip tree (Liriodendron Tree). That bud would soon bloom into a tulip-like blossom.
