An arch covered path contained lights to illuminate it at night. The arches were gradually being covered with creeping roses. Benches lined the path.

The arch covered path either ended at the parking lot or began there. The arch bases and the benches were each dedicated to a named individual.

The other direction, on the arch covered path, led into the rose garden.

Inside the garden, most of the paths were hard packed gravel. Note the small sign at the base of the roses that identified each grouping.

A sign on a post that led into the park from the river bike trail, said:

Walk Your
Bike

A "detour" sign, and a "sidewalk closed" sign, caused bicycles to divert through the rose garden. Naturally those diverted bicycles were walked.
