The Sign
The sign in front of the Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge faced the road making it easy to spot while driving. Next to the sign, and nearest to the entrance, was a smaller sign labeling parking for the disabled.

Parking
Parking to access the wildlife refuge was parallel to the road. There was room to park about half a dozen cars.

No Overnight Parking

The Entrance
The entrance to Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge was level, allowing access to the disabled and elderly. Trash and Recycle bins were in a corner of the entrance.

The Deck
At the end of the level entrance path was a deck. Beyond the deck was water and marshland.

The Mixing Zone

Waterfowl Hunting Regulations

A Map
A map was screwed to the deck fence below the waterfowl hunting regulations. It showed, "Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge Waterfowl Hunt Area."

Stairs
The only way down to the marsh itself was using this stairway. There was no wheelchair access to the marsh.

The Marsh
The marsh looking north. It was a short walk beyond the deck. People were allowed to walk out there. In fact, you can see a path worn through the tall grass.

The Deck
The deck as seen from the marsh. It was hidden enough so that it could be used as a blind for watching birds.

The Marsh Looking South
The marsh as it appeared looking south across tall grass, littered with large driftwood trees. Wetlands, such as this, help protect the land beyond from flooding.
