A sign along one of the outside paths, gave directions. One arrow pointed the way toward "Passages Of The Deep." Another arrow pointed the way toward "Nature Trail" and "Children's Play Area."

A scenic overlook revealed an estuary drained of water during low tide. A sign told of sea and shore birds that could be found in the area year round.

The estuary retained a bit of water which remained in the shade.

Part of the grounds was composed of a rock passage. One direction led to a (closed in winter) otter display. Another direction returned to the gift shop. And a third direction lead to "Passages Of The Deep."

A map showed where we were and how to get from there to the next part of the aquarium.
