Just saw, and really liked [this shot]. Not just because of all the nighttime detail you get from HDR. Not just the interesting surroundings of Justin Herman Plaza with it's ice rink (eat your heart out Rockefeller Plaza!). Nor the fine composition. But the multiple and differently exposed skaters give it a dynamic I've never seen before. Sure, translucent and ghost like multiple exposures I've seen... The skaters balanced against the solid and immutable observers outside the rink is nicely expressive and captures the contrast of the moment(s) beautifully. But, the differing exposures give it a lyrical and festive quality I never expected.
