State Street at its high numbered end was a wide busy street with some truck traffic. Here the signals were high so that they could be seen despite tall trucks.

One motel on State Street had this statue of a rearing horse out in front.

The number 3 bus was part of the Santa Barbara County Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) . The number 3 ran between the downtown Transit Center and State Street at La Cumbre, but only ran once each half hour.

A man was seen just entering the FedEx Office building from its parking lot. Imagine the effort taken to carry those packages all the way from the car.

An ambulance with lights flashing and siren splitting ears sped the wrong direction down the wrong side of State Street.
