Westley watched the candles burn on his dad's birthday cake. Or did he really see the cake below the fire with its blue frosting and fresh cookies? No matter, because he enjoyed seeing whatever he was looking at.

Everyone at the table sang happy birthday as Westley's dad waited in the his bedroom to be surprised. But he missed his cue and had to be called a second time and the song had to be sung a second time as the candles continued to burn.

The cake that Westley picked out for his dad was a Cookie Monster cake, complete with cookies it its mouth, frosting that looked just like blue hair, and googly eyes.

Westley helped his dad blow out the candles on the cake. His dad held himself up using crutches and the edge of the table. The crutches were the aftermath of an accident.

Westley's mom help Westley cut the first piece of cake and place it gently onto a paper plate. Just beyond his mom you can see the crepe paper decorations on a column.

The aftermath of cutting and serving the Cookie Monster cake was that the Cookie Monster became cake being scraped off a serving spatula onto a pink paper plate.
