The Banner read, "Cheer SF." A sign, held by someone behind the banner, read, "Help us give back to your community ."

In 1993, CHEER SF became a performing unit of San Francisco's Jon Sims Center for the Performing Arts, thus establishing themselves as an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The team works together to develop cutting-edge cheerleading shows for annual events like the Castro Street Fair in the fall and Pride parades and festivals in the spring and summer.

One of the cheer leaders looked up to check for overhead wires or tree branches that might interfere with the throw.

The group was ready to perform the throw and catch. Notice the cooperation and strong grips that hold the person up in the center.

The person elevated balanced on one leg and held the other leg aloft. A free arm was spread to create a pose.

The person aloft breaks contact with those below and begins a choreographed fall. Some twist and fall, while others just fall.

The person aloft has been released and is in freefall.

The group below that held the person aloft, now became the group that caught the falling person.

Safely back on the ground, the person that was aloft waved to the crowd lining the sidewalk.
