The Opel Stage was shaped like a bowling pin. It occupied almost the full width of 2nd Street and was just downhill from the 2nd and Folsom entrance

The Opulent Temple sign stood between speakers and stuffed animals.

The first three early dancers gyrated in front of the speakers.

The DJ Richard Mixon sat in the bowling pin booth and created the first set of dance music.

A few of the early dancers danced in isolation that afternoon.

The Heavy Petting Zoo was set up next to the dance floor of the Opel / Opulent Temple Stage. The Zoo was covered in stuffed animals.
