The entry to the fair announced itself as the 50th (with the zero a peach) Oregon Country Fair. A full half century of fun and entertainment.

Most things were recycled or composted. Only the tiniest amount of discards found their way into a landfill bin.

The Morningwood Odditorium was a stage with seating that presented a wide range of novelty and vaudeville acts.

Kids played on a wooden chair that was so large it must have been made for a giant to sit on it.

A raised garden was constructed from split logs arranged into a pyramid. Many flowers bloomed in that raised garden. At the very top was a glass replica of a peach.

The Monkey Palace was a set of colorful tents covering a stage and seating area under the shade of which bands played.

The fair became more crowded as mid afternoon approached. People walked peacefully in all different directions. Some aisles were blocked by people lined up to buy food.

Just after 2:00 in the afternoon, the fair had become so crowded that it felt like it might burst at its seams. It was at this hour that a few sensible folks found their way to the exit and to the shuttle bus back to Eugene.
