The Wetlands Trail led across the Vern Adkison Bridge down into a wetlands area. The trail ended at a series of blinds built for nature watching.

The first blind formed a tunnel through the forest.

The tunnel blind had signs posted along its inside wall.

The first sign read in part, "For thousands of years, the Willamette and its tributaries flowed free."

The middle part of that first sign read, "Its seasonal floods and shifting channels."

The rightmost part of the first sign read, "shaped the land, creating a fertile valley."

The blind tunnel opened to reveal a blind tent.

A bench inside the blind tent had a Chinese proverb written on it. "Keep a green tree in your heart and perhaps a singing bird will come."
