Curtains, and Draperies

Sheers Caught A Reflection
Just an hour after noon, these sheers became back-lit by a reflection off a window across the street. The curve of the reflection suggested it might might have been from a car window.

Fake Geese
The curtains were closed that afternoon for privacy. But by being closed they created a parade of fake geese to liven the mood.

Plant Back-Lit
Indoor house plants were back-lit that afternoon by light diffused through closed floral curtains. Floral curtains can create a unique mood.

Backed Drapes
Drapes with a backing were closed mid day to help keep the winter heat inside. During the summer they might also be closed to keep the cool air from escaping.

A Town Beyond
Beyond the sheers the heart of a town did still beat. Sheer curtains serve the dual benefit of creating a sense of privacy, while still allowing a feeling of connection to the world outside.

Cocoa Sheers
Cocoa sheers, illuminated from the inside, served to warm the room. Yet day and night light from outside could alter that mood by cooling it with blue light from the sky.

Lace-Print Curtains
Behind the scenes of the Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park were rooms with photo exhibits and rooms filled with the mechanics of the organ. At the end of one room, facing the outside was this small window covered with a delicate lace-print curtain. The inside lighting clearly overpowered the cloud-covered daylight from beyond.
