The young man carried a torn parasol that afternoon in Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadows. He and others had gathered for the 2008 Tour de Fat event, a bicycle only event with performances on stage and with novelty bikes to ride.

The sticker on a lamp post on the outskirts of Brussels, Belgium had been torn and was no longer legible. One can only speculate that this might have at one time been a advertisement for a music event or a political meeting.

A while before this shot was taken, someone had attached something made of paper to this fence. Over time, the paper had fallen or been ripped away until what remained formed the cross-piece of the letter G.

Torn Bike Seat

A bicycle was parked and locked to a metal fence in front of a residence in the upper Haight area of San Francisco. Although the seat was ripped, it still appeared as if it were usable.
