Beyond Fountain
The statue was located beyond the fountain in the middle of the seating area for the Golden Gate Park Bandstand. Two people happened to stand in front of the statue, thereby giving an indication of its size.

Atop A Low Hill
The statue stood atop a low grassy hill. It was a two story statue, with Lady Liberty above and Francis Scott Key seated in the shade below.

Lady Liberty
Lady Liberty held a furled American flag and stood on the very top of the sculpture. Eagles flapped their wings just below her feet. A buffalo head appeared to hold a laural wreath above a five pointed star. Below the star were the words, "Star Spangled Banner."
