Mural In Context
Murals covered two walls of a building. Tavar Zawacki's mural, called Metamorphosis #2, was the one to the left. It looked like a crumpled piece of paper stuck to the wall.

The Overall Mural
An overall view of the mural showing it painted on the back of a very tall building. The mural appeared to rise off the building and cast its own painted shadow on the wall.

The Bottom Curl

The Two Side Curls
A closer look at the two side curls and the way they shadowed themselves. The texture of the building added texture to the mural, and made the painted paper appear weathered and old.

The Top
The right side curl folded in just such a way as to give the top of the figure the resemblance to a boat's sails. Blue and white striped sails against an aqua sky.

The Sign
A sign in the lower right of the mural identified this mural as part of Sacramento's "Wide Open Walls" project. The artist's name was spelled out. And the sign was topped by a California star and bear.
