9 Feet Tall
The sculpture was nine feet tall and weighed over five tons. It was carved out of three pieces of stone.

Inside Edge Smooth
The inside edge of the sculpture was polished smooth, in contrast to the rough texture of the outside.

A view of the sculpture from its south facing side. From this point of view it looked like a single piece of rock planted in the brick sidewalk.

Sphere Peeked Out
Again, when viewed from its south side, the ball in the center of the sculpture appeared to peek out from behind.

Posts Held The Sphere
Steel posts held the sphere in the center of the opening between the two stone halves.

The Sphere
The stone sphere seemed to float between the two stone halves. Despite the five tons of the sculpture, the sphere lent it a feeling of lightness.
