The Sign
A tall and verbose sign described the art and the point of the sculpture. In the center of this and an identical sculpture in Haifa, Isreal were periscopes. The periscopes were connected so that someone looking through the San Francisco periscope would see Haifa, Isreal, and visa versa.

The Periscope
A periscope at the base featured two view ports at adult and child heights. Looking through the view port, one was supposed to see the sister city. But the view ports were not working on this day.

A Low Fence
A low wire fence discouraged entry at all but the inclined ramp. A non-slip rubber mat allowed the periscope to be safely used even on rainy days.
