The new Apple store (to the left) created a new plaza behind it and behind the Grand Hyatt to the right. The San Francisco Fountain was at the sidewalk end of the new plaza, flanked by stairs.

A large complex and verbose sign was embedded in the sidewalk in front of the sculpture. It described the sponsors and history of the sculpture, and called it a, "great folk monument."

Two large capital H letters were on the front of the sculpture.
