The sequence of murals were painted on the Vitas Pizza walls at the corner of 2nd and E Streets in Davis, California.

The murals appeared to be copies of old 1940's photographs showing the pizza parlor as it appeared back then. Back then, a slice of pizza was a mere 5¢.

The signature on one of the several murals read, "Ned Luce."

The next of several murals showed a line of cars pulled up in front of the "Cotton Club."

An abstract policeman stood in front of the line of cars and waited for trouble to begin.

A line of workers sat on a steel beam and ate lunch. The steel beam was part of a new high rise being constructed.

One of the workers, on the steel beam, had Vita's Pizza for lunch.

One of the workers dining on the steel beam, offered a cigarette to a fellow worker. He was just lighting that smoke in this mural.

In a painted alcove next to Vita's Italian Pizza a sailor kissed a woman.

This mural was a reproduction of a famous photograph taken in Times Square on VE day. These days a sailor would have to ask for permission before kissing.

Pies to take out (we presume these were pizza pies) were 14¢ apiece.
