Tall Sculpture
The ceramic piece by Jeff Downing called, "The Keeper," stood in front of the Pence Gallery at 212 D Street, Davis, California. It depicted a giraffe neck and head with stairs and yellow posts at its base.

The Sign
A small metal sign at the base of the sculpture described it. That sign read: Jeff Downing

Yellow Metal Post
Next to the base of, and part of, the sculpture rose a yellow metal post. It was shaped and painted to resemble a real metal post complete with rivets and rusted metal bands.

Actual Ball
An actual ball (not part of the sculpture) was balanced on one of the shallow steps that led up the base of the sculpture.

Float Gauge
A yellow float gauge was nestled against the neck of the sculpture. It was made to resemble a float gauge, but the metal stick it was mounted on did not pass through the float.

Dog-Like Head
The head of the giraffe-like sculpture was shaped more like a dog's head.
