It had rained earlier that day, so when the festival started, wet grass became trampled down. The effect was a green view of a past tragedy.

Each winter, an ice rink is set up in Justin Herman Plaza just outside the Embarcadero Four building. This year the walk around it was covered with fake grass, and green tape was used to create lanes.

The section of Stockton Street over the Stockton Street tunnel looked like a normal San Francisco neighborhood. At the corner of Emma Street was a huge wall of ivy. The stop light was included in this shot to lend a sense of scale.

On a boat ride through one of the flooded inlets along the Amazon River in Peru, we drifted into a clump of trees to observe wildlife. The algae that floated atop the water was just as green as the jungle.

A path led from the De Young Museum around its side and back toward the main road through the park. This leaf was found next to the museum.
