The "Columbus Café" mural covered the entire front of a building at 2nd & F Streets in Davis, California. It might seem like an actual café as you pass and view it from the corner of your eye.

A small sign identified this mural. It read:

The front of the cafe is shown as drawn. A "Miller High Life" sign hung above the words "Columbus Cafe" painted on the window. Behind the window a waitress chatted with a family at a table by the window. Reflected in the window were 1977 cars and another cafe across the street.

The signature was painted as part of the mural. It read, "© July 15, 1977. T.E. Buckendorf, restored 6-26-87."

The family sat by the window inside the "Columbus Café" mural. They were dressed for one of those rare very warm days in San Francisco.

A man and a woman stood just inside the open door of the "Columbus Café" mural. They might have been lovers, or they might just be enjoying a lunchtime getaway.

At the right hand side of the "Columbus Café" mural was an apartment building. Behind a door, with six panes of glass, a person in pajamas peered out.

Above the front door of the "Columbus Café" mural was a large exhaust pipe.
