A water faucet was placed near the edge of the campsite. It was wrapped in foam and painted green. The foam was to protect it from low temperatures and the paint caused it to vanish into the bush as less of an eyesore.

The Wharf in Santa Cruz was a good place to fish. Near each approved fishing area was a washing and cleaning basin with a water faucet. The faucet had a single handle so it could be opened with an elbow if necessary when hands were filthy.
